Children’s Author Week

Children’s Author Week is observed the first week of February.  The week is intended to promote literacy and encourage a lifelong love of reading.  Many acclaimed authors visit schools, libraries and children’s shelters all over the country.  The authors engage the children with lively story telling and fascinating presentations.  The hope is that these workshops will make the books spring to life.  This is a great way to celebrate and recognize authors who created books for young people and promote literacy with quality, inspiring stories.  Read through these possible baby names taken from the authors of your favorite childhood books.
