Columbus Day

Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, discovering the Americas. Today, we know the name Christopher Columbus and associate him with being the founder of the “new world.” This topic is controversial because the Americas had already been settled by indigenous people. Still in all, Columbus Day will continue to be celebrated every October in memory of a great European explorer who dared to sail where not many people had sailed before.
